Cuban-born Anthony Timiraos had a varied and productive professional life for years. He was so successful that he was pulled back into business after attempting to retire three times. Maybe now that he is devoting his life to his postponed passion for male figurative photography, retirement will stick. At every opportunity during our trips we visited art museums and were always aware of the beauty and form of classical nude art.
FINE ART MALE NUDES BY TROY SCHOONEMAN - Fine Art Male Portraits by Troy Schooneman
Lesson 5 of Classic Poses for Nude Male contains nudity. So now we're going to talk about some go-to, or classical, men's poses. Now the poses that you choose for your particular shoot may vary from these, because in a shoot, it's going to depend on a couple of things.
87 Timeless Photos of Nude Men by Anthony Timiraos
Born, bred and raised in the Southwest of Cornwall I came late to the artistry of the camera. The images I create are intimate collaborations with my sitters resulting in works that range from the conceptual, romantic or classical to the subjectively challenging; sometimes for small projects, but often as standalone pieces of art. The naked male has long been a contentious issue; he threatens, horrifies, subverts and worst of all incites hidden desires. While my work is firmly rooted within and references Queer History and Identity there are broader issues touched upon that question masculinity from the full spectrum of sexualities…ageing, desire, ethics, intimacy, objectification, validation, vulnerability and particularly censorship.
Opulent, timeless, and emotionally evocative are just some of the adjectives used to describe the beautiful fine art male nudes and male portraits of Australian fine art photographer Troy Schooneman. His intense, often melancholy, yet highly romantic portraits of young men from ethnically diverse backgrounds are frequently mistaken for paintings rather than contemporary fine art photographs. His portraits take us on a journey beyond mere masculine beauty and allow us a glimpse of the profound elegance created by juxtaposing the strength and physical presence of his young male subjects with the themes of vulnerability, uncertainty, and sadness - emotions that society often demands men hide from public view. Schooneman has captured this elegance with great subtlety and we are often left transfixed by the seemingly endless contradictions created by his portraits.
